we wanted to bring something to the range that was inspired by bold photographic lighting when we travelled to the far east on a development trip we saw a lot of this type of lighting in factories and used as big industrialwarehouse lighting essentially. when we got back to the studio,we designed and developed this range based on that inspiration, we detailed the outside shape and heavily detailed inside facets.the idea for the range is that it

has a really reflective quality and diffuses the light really well. the bigger pieces, the pendant and giant floor lamp, look better when they're used in a main living space, they need some height and presence around them. the smaller pieces like the table,the floor lamp and clamp lamp are great ascent pieces, so you can use them in a number of rooms. the clamp lamp looks great when clipped to a bookshelf or in a bedroom as a bedside lamp. it's made by a technique called spinning,

where you start off with a flat sheet of aluminium, it's then put onto a spinning machine, it's spun at a reallyhigh speed, a craftsman uses tools to push push the flat sheet into shape and get those really detailed facets. the tool that it's pushed onto weighs over200 kilos so it's a really big machine with really heavy tooling and it takes over half an hourto make one piece. i really love the range!

it's a real iconic,statement range and for me it has real design presence. i love the way it's made by a craftsman and not mass produced in the way so many things are these days, each piece is made by a real skilled worker.
